The Hampshire County Veterans Foundation provides assistance to Veterans and their families in the counties of Hampshire, Mineral, Grant, Hardy, Morgan, Allegheny in MD, and Frederick in VA. We raise funds and awareness for Veterans through community donations and our annual event Veterans Appreciation Festival and Freedom Ride.

We will be celebrating our TENTH Annual Freedom Ride this year! This year the Ride will be on Saturday September 9, 2023. Registration begins at 8:30 am at Romney Cycles in Romney, WV. Kickstands up is 10:00 am. West Virginia Peach Festival
Get ready for a peachy-keen time at the West Virginia Peach Festival in Romney! Our down-home, family-friendly festival is now in its 10th year and going stronger than ever. Join us on the first weekend of August for craft and flea market vendors, live entertainment, games, the Annual Peach Pageant, a car show, and even a motorcycle show. And of course, we’ve got all things peaches, including homemade peach ice cream and delicious desserts. Plus, the food vendors will have your mouth watering with their amazing aromas. Hampshire County Fair
Yeehaw! Step right up to the old-fashioned country fair, where you’ll feel like a kid again with all your favorite things: cotton candy, farm animals, and exhibits galore! Get your fill of delicious fair food and play classic games on the midway, but don’t forget to stop and listen to some live music. And if that’s not enough excitement for ya, get down and dirty with the mudbog or check out the livestock exhibits. Don’t forget the grand feature parade – it’s the cherry on top of this rootin’ tootin’ event!
Hampshire County Farm Crawl
July 15, 10-4 & July 16, 10-4Saddle up, folks, because it’s time for the ultimate Hampshire County adventure – the Farm Crawl! Get ready to explore and discover the amazing farms that make this place so special. Each participating location is ready to show you the ropes, whether it’s selling their top-notch products, leading you on a tour of the farm, or just giving you a peek behind the barn doors to see what it takes to run a farm. This is your chance to experience the farm life firsthand, meet some friendly folks, and maybe even pet a few animals along the way. So grab your boots and let’s get crawlin’!Please keep in mind that these farms are in operation. Kindly refrain from opening gates, crossing fences, petting or feeding animals, entering any buildings, or taking photos without permission.It’s important to note that not all farms are open on both days. The 14th Annual South Branch Valley Bluegrass Festival and Fireworks show will be held June 24th from 11am to 10pm (rain or shine) at the Wapocoma Campground, five miles west of Romney along the South Branch of the Potomac River. Featured artists include Appalachian Roadshow, Volume Five, United States Navy Band Country Current, Dunlap & Mape, Springfield Exit and more to come! Fireworks show starts at 10 pm!

The annual Colonial Feast commemorating the Battle of Great Cacapehon.
Free and open to the public. Please invite family and/or friends.
We encourage you to come in colonial garb, but street clothes are fine.
And we encourage you to bring a colonial era themed food, but it is not required.

Presentation on the history and accouterment of the French & Indian War era Virginia Regiment, Rutherford Rangers.There will be a discussion of the new interpretive trail that loops from the museum/visitor center down near the original fort site, along the river, and back. They have some great signage describing historical information, wildlife, and tree and other plant descriptions.
