Concert: The Honeydew Drops
Join us to welcome The Honeydew drops back to The River House!
Acoustic; Singer Songwriter; beautiful harmonies
https://www.thehoneydewdrops.com
Virginia raised and Maryland based, Laura and Kagey began touring in 2009 and have called Baltimore home since 2014.
For twelve years the Honey Dewdrops have been writing music for two voices and two instruments, mostly acoustic guitars and banjo, maximizing on a minimal format. Light Behind Light invites more instruments into the mix, increasing the range of frequencies and widening the space around the music. It also allows the songs time to travel melodic and narrative distances. You feel that time in the details, rhythm and voices rippling out and then rippling back in, pulling you along in its current. In this way, the songs are invitations to respond, to move with them, to sing along.
Tickets are $12 prior to event, $15 at the door!
Open Mic “Shakespeareaoke”: The Rustic Mechanicals
The River House is excited to host a two day Shakespearan experience with West Virginia’s own Vintage Theatre Company! We invite you and your family to join us in welcoming back our friends from The Rustic Mechanicals to share their craft through a Shaksepeareoke event Thursday, July 14th from 6-8 pm on our scenic outdoor stage.
What is a Shakespeareaoke you ask?
It’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Bard). The Rustic Mechanicals will host their unique open mic, spoken word Shakespeareaoke where audience members will be invited to join us to Speak the Speech(es), Scenes, and Sonnets of the immortal Bard himself. We will have printouts of several speeches and scenes that you can choose from, or you can bring your own work from the canon. But don’t limit yourself to just Shakespeare: Any type of sharing and performance is welcome from poetry to promenades, music to memories.
