U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Event Itinerary
Hosted at the WV Schools for the Deaf & the Blind, 301 E Main Street, Romney, WV
November 14, 2023
Open Time for Attendees from 10:30 am-12:30 pm:
– Visit the truck in the center of the campus to view the wrapped-up U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree on its extra-long trailer.
– Opportunity to sign the banners attached to each side of the truck.
– Learn about the Monongahela National Forest at the information booth.
– Purchase U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree merchandise from the designated stalls.
– Explore various community booths set up on the grounds around the tree.
– Brina a toy or canned/boxed food to donate to those in need this holiday season.
10:30 am – 10:35 am:
Opening Prayer by Reverend Rob Vaughan.

Opening Remarks by Mayor Beverly Keadle.
10:40 am – 10:55 am:
Address by Nikki Bowman Mills, President, Publisher & Editor-in-Chief of New South Media.

Performance by WVSDB musical group, Tapestry.
11:10 am – 11:20 am:
Performance by students from The Cat & The Fiddle Music School.
11:15 am – 11:45 am:
Storytelling session with Adam Booth.
11:25 am – 11:35 am:
Performance by Honeybee Community Choir.
11:40 am – 11:50 am:
Performance by Hampshire High School Show Choir’s Harmony.
11:55 am – 12:05 pm:
Performance by the Hampshire High School Marching Band.
12:00 pm – 12:30 pm:
Second storytelling session with Adam Booth.
12:10 pm – 12:30 pm:
Live musical performance by the Paul Roomsburg & Family.
Special Note to Guests:
Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs for added comfort during the event. Feel free to find a cozy spot on the grounds to set up your chair and enjoy the festivities. Guests are also advised to arrive a bit earlier to find suitable parking and to settle in comfortably before the event starts. We hope you enjoy the festivities and the performances lined up for the event!
