  • Avalon Resort LLC
    250-acre clothing-optional family recreation facility, open to the public year-round. Camping sites for RVs and tents, swimming pool, volleyball and other game courts, fishing pond, playground, restaurant. Annual Music Festival-August. Dogs allowed.
    Paw Paw. From Rt. 50, take 29N toward Paw Paw. At intersection with 127, follow Rt. 29 toward Paw Paw for 6 1/4 miles to Critton Owl Hollow Rd. (Rt. 29/1) Turn left and go 2 miles to entrance on right.

  • Buffalo Gap Campground

  • Middle Ridge Campground
    21 large wooded campsites, each with picnic table and fire ring. Water, sewer, and electric hookups. Open year-round. In-ground swimming pool, bath house with hot water, 2 pavilions with fire-rings, 2 ponds (catch and release fishing), hiking trails. Close to river access, canoeing and tubing, excellent hunting and fishing. 5 miles west of Romney on Rt. 50, right at Fox Hollow Rd., follow double yellow lines as it becomes Middle Ridge Rd. Entrance 2 miles on right.

  • Nathaniel Mountain Wildlife Management Area
    10,600 acres with 21 miles of foot trails and 4 miles of stream. Primitive campground sites with water from mountain springs or hand pumps and vault-type toilets.
    From Rt. 50 east of Romney, south on Grassy Lick Rd. approximately 12 miles to entrance road on right. Entrance road goes thru 1 1/2 miles of private land to the state boundary, indicated by an entrance sign.

  • Short Mountain Wildlife Management Area
    8,000+acres of mountainous woodland. Fifteen miles of foot trailsAM ong mixed oak and hard pine woodlands.
    18 miles southeast of Romney. From US Rt. 50 in Augusta, turn south on Ford Hill Rd., travel approximately 8 miles, turn left at Short Mountain Wildlife Management Area sign. Gravel entrance road passes through private land for approximately 1 mile up to the west slope of the mountain.

  • Edward's Run Wildlife Management Area
    Approximately 400 acres with a spring-fed trout stream and stocked 2acre trout pond Small, primitive camping area with pit-type toilets and trash receptacles. Easy access.
    2 miles north of Capon Bridge on Springfield Grade/Cold Stream Rd.
